Resize Movement

Convert damaged, scrap or long components into smaller usable components by decreasing one item and increasing another—fully reversible.

Purpose

Resize is used to convert one component into one or more different components. Examples include:

  • Cutting an 8ft tube into two 3ft tubes

  • Splitting a long brace into several shorter braces

  • Modifying damaged components by resizing them into usable forms

Resize movements decrease the original component and increase the resulting components. Every Resize is fully reversible, ensuring mistakes can be corrected safely.

Use the search bar to locate items.

Show All Items Toggle

The Show All Items toggle controls how inventory items are displayed in the Inventory Information table.

How It Works

Toggle State
Behaviour

OFF (default)

Hides all inventory items.

Once you edit or add quantities to items, toggle the list off again to only display the times you have chosen to update, adjust or modify.

ON

Displays every inventory item in the yard, allowing you to browse, search, or edit any component directly.

This helps reduce on-screen clutter during stock take operations by showing only the relevant items you are adjusting.

Toggle ON → All components are visible

Select items and apply Edit Qty values. Toggle OFF → Only the items you edited remain visible, making review simpler before approval

Specify Components Being Modified

Decrease the original component

Enter a negative value into Edit Qty. Example:

  • Cutting 3M Standard → Enter -1

Increase the resulting components

Enter positive values for each new component. Example:

  • Producing one 2M Standard → Enter +1

Resize supports multiple outputs from a single input.

Note: If you need to resize a component into a component that does not yet exist in your inventory, you must add the new component into the system first.

Only once the new component exists can you:

  1. Select it in the Resize table

  2. Enter the positive Edit Qty to add the resized quantity into that stock

  3. Resize movements can only increase inventory for existing component records.

If the target component hasn’t been created yet, it will not appear in the dropdown, search bar, or table.

4. Review Summary

The summary panel displays:

  • Total Items

  • Total Counts

  • Total Weight

Use this to verify your corrections before approval.

5. Upload Files (Optional)

Attach photos or documents such as:

  • Cut length records

  • Damage photos

  • Yard modification notes

6. Approve the Resize

Click APPROVE to confirm and apply all changes. You may also choose:

  • UPDATE – save as draft

  • VOID – cancel the update entirely

Reversing a Resize

All Bulk Updates are fully reversible. This is essential during stock takes or reconciliation if an adjustment was made incorrectly.

How to Reverse a Bulk Update

  • Go to Inventory → Bulk Updates

  • Expand the Bulk Updates accordion

  • Click the Resize record you want to reverse

  • Inside the Resize form, click the REVERSE button

What Happens When You Reverse

  • All decreased components return to their previous quantities

  • All increased components are reduced accordingly

  • The original Resize moves to the Reversed accordion

  • A new reversal entry appears in each Component Log

Reversals are fully traceable and cannot be edited.
