Edit Customer

Open an existing customer from the list, update any details (or delete the record), and save changes—no need to re-enter unchanged fields.

Purpose

Keep customer information accurate by updating names, contacts, addresses, VAT settings, and other details whenever they change.

Accessing Customers

  1. In the side navigation, go to Settings → Customer Profiles → Click on a Customer.

Open the Customer to Edit

Search: In the search bar, type at least 3 characters of the company name, email, or country to filter.

Tip: Click the X in the search bar to clear the filter and see the full list again.

Select: Click the row of the customer you want to edit.

The Customer form opens, populated with the existing details.

Editable Fields

  • Customer Name (required)

  • Email Address (optional)

  • Representative (optional)

  • Contact Number (optional)

  • Registration Number (optional)

  • VAT Number (optional)

  • Search for Location or Business (Google-integrated lookup)

  • Address / Suburb / State/City / Zip / Country (all optional)

  • Exclude VAT on Estimates and Invoices (toggle)

Note: Customer Name is the only required field. You can update any subset of fields and leave others unchanged.

Update the Customer

  • Edit the necessary fields.

  • (Optional) Use Search for location or business to autofill address details, then adjust any field as needed.

  • Set Exclude VAT on Estimates and Invoices if this customer should not be charged VAT.

  • Click Update Customer to save.

Result: You return to the Customers list with the revised details shown in the table.

Delete the Customer (use with care)

  • Open the customer (click its row in the table).

  • Click Delete Customer.

  • Confirm in the prompt to permanently remove the record.

Caution: Deletion is irreversible. Ensure the customer is no longer needed before confirming.

Best Practices

  • Search before editing to avoid changing the wrong record when names are similar.

  • Keep contacts current (email, phone, representative) for smooth communication and document delivery.

  • Use the VAT toggle per customer to keep invoices and estimates compliant.

  • Address via lookup for consistent, geocoded entries; manually adjust if required.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t find the customer? Clear the search (X) or widen your search term.

  • Validation error? Ensure Customer Name is present—this is the only required field.

  • Address not found? Enter address fields manually.
